Outdoor Education.
At Camp Yale, we offer a multitude of outdoor education opportunities.
- Special Programming
- The Camp staff offers a full day program in Outdoor Education that will create up to 7 educational activities for participants to experience. Programmed activities can include:
- 2 to 3 challenge course elements*
- Climbing tower and zip line*
- Archery
- Fishing
- Tree & plant identification
- Living history experience
- Orienteering
- Pond & stream studies

- Archery
- Materials and training are provided to youth that want to learn archery. A trainer will be with the group to instruct them as they enjoy this hands-on experience. Our archery component is provided deep in our 30-acre park, so be prepared to walk and enjoy our 2-miles of trails leading to the archery area.
- Fishing
- Camp Yale provides young people the opportunity to fish in a 1-acre, fully stocked pond. Surrounding the pond, is an open grassy area where your group can just hang out, talk and enjoy the pond.
- Fishing poles, bait and tackle, can be included in the programming fee, or the group can bring their own.
- Tree and Plant Identification
- One mile of our trails has unique trees, flowers and plants identified for students that want or need to learn about nature. Camp Yale staff has worked closely with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in seeking and identifying plants and trees in our forest.
- Living History
- Our woodsman, in full 19th-century dress and character, will teach your group about life in 1812 and demonstrate how trees were cut. Then, participants actually saw a tree apart with 19th century tools!
- Orienteering
- This program teaches students basic compass-reading, orienting them to landmarks.
- Pond & Stream Studies
- Camp Yale offers students an opportunity to learn the composition of fresh water ecosystems.
